Of An Oak

"Of An Oak" is a Jazz combo led by Sam Dechenne, a professional trumpet player based out of Boston. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and freelances around the New England area playing in many bands that range from Jazz and Funk to Latin, Balkan, Middle Eastern, Chamber, Big Band and much more. He's also had the opportunity to play with some of the finest Boston and New York professional Jazz and Pop musicians including: Denilo Perez, Tiger Okoshi, Eggui Castrillo, La Clava Secreta and Steve Wilkes. He also has toured in Japan, Madagascar and all across the U.S. with different Jazz and "World" musicians.
The name of the group is derived from "Dechenne", which in old French means "Of An Oak." Each member of the group adds their own unique voice to the music as well, making it both interesting and exciting to listen to. The group plays everything from events and weddings to shows, parties, restaurants, hotels and much more. Forming into a trio, quartet or quintet depending on the performance, they are professional and flexible musicians. If you are looking for background music or want a more showcased performance, "Of An Oak" will add greatly to your event.
